I am a certified pranayama (breath control) and yoga teacher with Patanjali Yogpeeth (Toronto, Canada/Haridwar, India) under the guidance of Swami Ramdev, as well as a certified Yoga Alliance teacher from the Shiva Rishi School of Yoga in Kerala, India. She has trained with Dr. Madan Bali in Montreal in the Dr. Bali Method, and also counts the Bihar School of Yoga lineage, and living masters Dr. Avdhoot Baba Shivanand and Dr. Ishan Shivanand from the Shiv Yog lineage, as profound influences.

True to the Sanskrit meaning of my name, the essence of renewal, I have reinvented and transformed myself several times within this life. Throughout my journey, my breath and my spiritual practice have remained my constant companions. It is my sincere desire to share the practice of pranayama with others so that all can nurture this sacred relationship with their breath, and to empower people towards realizing their true potential through the vehicle of yoga.

Nootan Kumar’s spring 2025 online introductory pranayama 6-week workshop was a wonderful opportunity to deep-dive into something most of us take for granted: breathing!
